Mark Simpson is an inspirational speaker and writer committed to raising personal and collective consciousness. He is a yoga and meditation teacher who encourages transformation, healing and awareness. His work invites and supports individual and organisational growth and visionary leadership that is based on compassion, kindness, empowerment and inclusiveness.
He is the author of Light Up the World, a collection of poetry and prose to inspire new ways of being in ourselves and in the world. It is full of wisdom and insight to support our awakening and live more deeply connected and empowered lives. Like Mark, his book encourages us all on the path of greater vision towards peace, compassion and loving service.
Mark is a Cert IV (800hr) qualified yoga teacher completing his training at Byron Yoga Centre. He has practiced yoga for nearly ten years and has been teaching for two and a half. Mark has completed Reiki Level I & II. He is a regular Soul Vida class attendee, retreat participant and co-facilitator.
He continues to draw on Zen Buddhist, Yogic and Shamanic traditions as well as secular wisdom for learning and inspiration. He has attended retreats at Thich Nhat Hanh’s Plum Village monastery including a retreat focused on Compassionate and Mindful Leadership - a gathering of more than 200 leaders dedicated to bringing forth greater compassion and mindful practice in business. Mark has been an active participant of a compassion study group, has taught yoga on mindfulness retreats, and is also a member of an ‘Active Hope’ fellowship group exploring the work of Joanna Macy.
In early working life he qualified as a lawyer in the UK, and in the course of twenty years working mostly in the corporate world, has also helped to set up an environmental not-for-profit organisation. He has also worked as a holistic coach and program facilitator working in the areas of health and personal development, including programs with young adults. He has also volunteered as a Board Member at the Dogs’ Refuge Home in Perth. Mark also has a Cert IV qualification in Training and Assessment and a Working with Children Check. He is an interesting and engaging speaker and teacher and enjoys positively influencing corporate leaders and future generations.
Mark surfs, hikes, and plays guitar and piano. He lives in Perth, Western Australia.
